what we believe
Often times groups of people will butt heads to unite on a common dream, a common pursuit, and in so doing will devise some kind of statement that expresses what they want to pursue together. In order to not have to say a long statement like that, they put a label on it and call it a “Vision Statement.” So, I guess that’s what this is:
Shawmut Springs Church is devoted to cultivating communities of holistic followers of Jesus who journey together through life. Our desire is to be a people who equip and nurture one another to impact the world with the love and message of Jesus Christ, so that we might create similar communities of faith wherever we go. In everything we do, Shawmut Springs’ aim is to reveal the goodness of God.
In these amazing moments, this “group of people” will also try to rally behind what they think are the MOST important things that they want to pursue. Sometimes we come up with such long lists that it’s really hard to remember them and thus put them into practice. So, we decided to just have three- easy to remember yes, but not always easy to apply. This is our aim and we call these “Core Values”:
Responsive - being responsible with what’s been entrusted to us. reaching out, caring for the world & people around us. responding to Jesus’ teachings with our lives.
Connected - being relational at our core, we strive for intimacy with God and with one another. open. honest. genuine… threads we seek to weave through the fabric of our community. family: though messy at times, through trials and victories, we help one another become who we were meant to be.
Whole - being impacted by Jesus and His way of living, we desire for every aspect of our lives (…our work, play, relationships, time, etc) to be influenced by our faith. our whole lives are to reflect the ways of Jesus.
